Interior

Recently modernised and newly decorated

Walking into the entrance hall, guests have a clear view through to the open-plan dining and lounge area. Bright, south-facing, and with unusually high Victorian ceilings, the feeling is one of space and light.

The apartment is quiet and peaceful. All the windows are double glazed. As only pedestrians and cyclists are permitted on the paths around the grounds, there is no passing road traffic.

Two turret areas link to the lounge, providing intimate sitting and study spaces. There is a television, excellent wi-fi and computer access. The kitchen, lit by east-facing windows, is fitted with built-in appliances including an electric induction hob, an electric oven with separate grill and microwave, a dishwasher and a fridge freezer. A washer/dryer is also provided.

There is also a bathroom on this level, with bath and shower, as well as a super king double/twin bedroom with its own en-suite bathroom (offering a bath and walk-in shower).

Balcony

Leading off the lounge is a private balcony overlooking The Meadows, one of Edinburgh’s most beautiful historic parks. In springtime, its lawns are sprinkled with crocuses and its paths lined with cherry blossoms.

This spectacular outlook reaches all the way to the Pentland Hills straight ahead and includes a peek of Arthur’s Seat to the east.

Mezzanine

Above this main area is a mezzanine level, accessed by a staircase, housing a library-style room for study, and the second bedroom – king size double/twin – with its own en-suite bathroom and walk-in shower.
